We believe that the arts are for everyone. Kennedy Heights Arts Center provides a range of outreach programs that bring the arts out into the community. The goal of these programs is to provide access to high-quality arts education for everyone regardless of economic circumstance.
Our experienced team of arts educators offer ongoing classes as well as one-time programs in schools, libraries, community centers, group homes and other community settings. Locations for 2010-2011 Outreach programs include: Pleasant Ridge Montessori, Silverton Paideia Academy, Mt. Washington School, Pleasant Ridge Public Library, and Hilltop Apartments.

Youth expressions of the future were the focus of an innovative, collaborative project developed by Kennedy Heights Arts Center and Public Allies Cincinnati. The goal was to give voice to young people in our community, providing a vehicle for them to share their thoughts and feelings.
The project celebrated the future dreams, hopes, fears, and aspirations of 5th - 8th grade students throughout Greater Cincinnati. Nearly 200 children from public, private, and alternative schools, as well as youth-serving programs, imagined and depicted their respective futures and those of their communities in a multimedia art project.
Each student responded to the prompt "In the future..." through drawing. The artwork was created on clear transparencies which then became "windows" to the future in a large-scale cityscape installation, constructed in partnership with local artist and arts educator Cedric Michael Cox and teen students.
In May 2011, these visions were displayed within a cityscape installation as part of an exhibit that was included in SOS Art 2011, an annual community art show of socio-political expressions for peace and justice. Hundreds of people from all over Cincinnati visited this exhibit and encountered the visions of these young artists.
Support for this project was provided by a grant from the John A. Schroth Family Charitable Trust, PNC Bank, Trustee.
In the 2010-2011 school year, Kennedy Heights Arts Center partnered with Silverton Paideia Academy on a unique community art project. "Our Community" engaged students and community members in exploring and documenting the rich history of Silverton through the artistic process. In this year-long project, 6th grade students at Silverton Paideia worked collaboratively with their teachers, KHAC staff and professional artist Rebecca Nebert to conduct research about the community, including collecting oral histories of long-term Silverton residents, and create a triptych mural using acrylic paint on three recycled hollow-core wood doors.
The finished product will continue to have an impact on students and community members for years to come. It is a picture of Silverton through the ages, with various significant people, events, businesses, and places all together along the train tracks and roads, with much green space and trees in between. The mural will be installed in the school building with the intent to move it to their new Community Learning Center facility opening in 2012.
This project was made possible through a grant from the Ohio Arts Council.
